Are you excited about the symposium, but don't know how to get started in planning your weekend?  Hopefully this page can answer some of your questions! If it doesn't, you can always feel free to give us a call at (630) 232-0320, we are more than happy to help you choose which courses, presentations and workshops might be interesting and give you the best symposium experience possible!

What's Included

Let's start with what is included with everyone's symposium registration.

Sessions: All Courses, Workshops, and Kayak Tours are included for the day(s) you are registered.

Meals: Dinners Saturday, Breakfasts & Lunches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are included in registration.  So, if you are registered for all four days of the symposium, all of those meals are included.  If your are only registered for a single day, for example - Friday, the meals you would receive would be breakfast and lunch on Friday, whereas if you were registered for Saturday, you would receive breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Special Events/Presentations:  Special Events such as the presentations, Skyline Night Paddle and Morning Yoga Warm-up are included in the price of registration.  Basically, if it's the only thing going on at that time according to the schedule, we encourage you to attend!

Demo Beach:  The demo beach is open before, after and between all sessions.

Choosing Your Sessions

How do I choose from all the workshops, tours and presentations that are going on?  How can I be sure that I'm taking on-water courses that will be engaging and fun, which I feel comfortable in?  What exactly is my skill level, and how do I know what levels the courses at this symposium are?  Those may be some of the questions that you are asking yourself at this point.  The first step would be looking at our events page, which will give you an overall picture of what is being offered.  Click on the event's name to be directed to the event description.  Each description has information on when that event is offered and who is teaching it.  Interested in taking a course with a particular coach? Go to the coaches page for a bio, as well as what courses, tours, and workshops,they are involved with.  Another way to plan you weekend is to look at our skill levels page to determine your skill level and then choose the courses and tours you're interested in.

What's Not Included

Items that are not included in the price of registration are kayak rentals, lodging and camping, or transportation to and from the symposium site to your choice of lodging.

Perhaps only part of your family is interested in attending the symposium. The city of Chicago offers more options than are humanly possible to experience for both local and out-of-town visitors.  From skyscraper tours, to museums, to parks and festivals, there is something for everyone visiting the city of Chicago.  For more information, visit the city's chamber of commerce website.
